Omnipotence to my mind means having the infinite potential to be less than infinite. If we imagine that there is an infinite side and this is the natural opposite of absolute nothingness, then neither side could be anything in reality without a mediating medium (the universe). But why?
If you think about it, the infinite side cannot be anything tangible otherwise it would not be infinite. If it was anything physical, or existing in space and time, it would be limited by these things so would not be infinite. But even though the infinite side is just as intangible as the nothingness side, it has the infinite potential to be less than infinite.
How could there be an infinite side unless it is infinitely more than nothing? Without being relative to nothing how can it be infinite? Infinite compared to what? As natural polar opposites, they are the plus and minus sides of pure potential in my view. In other words, both sides go on forever (in potential) but one side is infinitely positive, the other infinitely negative. Absolute nothingness is the minus side that is infinite in its potential to be less than anything, and the absolute infiniteness is the plus side that is infinite in its potential to be more than anything. Therefore the infinite plus side or positive side is the omnipotent power that created the universe out of nothing.
