Why is there something rather than nothing? And what does 'nothing' really mean? I would argue that, just as you cannot define nothingness as it is always less than anything, equally, you cannot define the polar opposite infinite side because it is always more than anything.
Imagine the infinite side as the positive side to nature and the nothingness side as the negative; both directions could never be reached, yet both sides are always possible in potential. Both directions, as concepts, are only anything in reality when there is a forced compromise. It is no coincidence to my mind that this must be why the universe is the result of positive and negative forces of nature, and that these forces balance out into a finely tuned universe. Both the infinite side and nothingness side are naturally stable as they are absolute, but they need to deal with each other, which creates a destabilized (and so energetic) middle ground. Put another way, the infinite side emerges out of the nothingness side as the forced forces of nature.
