A lot of confusion rides over claims that the universe can come from nothing. In my opinion, nothing is equivalent to what dark is to light. Just as you cannot project darkness because dark is just the absence of the potential of light — so you cannot get something out of nothing unless this nothing has the potential to be more than nothing. I would say that nothing is just the absence of the opposite of nothing. This "opposite" has some potential that's for sure, but the question is, how much? Surely it must be infinite in potential. In other words, the nothing that the universe emerged from has the potential to be something. And this something is infinitely more than nothing.
