Ricky Gervais & Russell Brand talk about God and atheism. I give my opinion here.
"The absolute" that Russell Brand talks about and "quantum physics" that Ricky Gervais talks about can both be understandable in my view if you imagine there are positive and negative sides behind nature. The positive is "the absolute," or infinite side, and the negative is absolute nothingness. The positive side emerges out of the negative nothingness as energy (or as the energy fluctuations in quantum physics). If it wasn't for this natural infinite side rising out of the natural nothingness side then nothing would happen. This would be my answer to the question in Afterlife, "where did God come from" because if you substitute the word god for the term "The Infinite" then it all makes more sense to my mind. The Big Bang must have come from somewhere. I would argue it has come from the infinite side rising (or inflating according to inflation theory) out of the nothingness side.
